Fiscal Technician II

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Clemson University’s General Engineering Department is looking for a Fiscal Technician II to fulfill the following duties:

  • Perform and supervises accounting duties which may include posting, updating, reconciling, auditing and preparing summary financial statistical reports for General Engineering and Engineering and Science Education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

65% - Essential - Initiates purchase orders, DPV's, I DO's, and other forms of payment for General Engineering and other related centers ensuring compliance with state and Clemson University guidelines to include, but not limited to, entering all BuyWays PO's, invoices and receipts, all reimbursements, web invoices and interdepartmental payments. Prepares payroll and payroll files and assimilates payroll information and the processing of payroll changes. Assists in verifying accounting documents, preparing financial statements, dual employment requests and travel reimbursement requests and the input of financial data into computerized systems.

15% - Essential - Serve as the Visa liaison for all purchasing cards associated with the assigned departments. Coordinate with each cardholder to collect all backup, reconcile the bank statements and enter the Visa charges into PeopleSoft. Posts transactions to various accounts; deposits checks received from various state agencies and programs. Provides support documentation for report preparation; monitors account status to ensure timely transaction processing. Assists professional staff in implementing financial procedural changes, determining fund sources and ensuring fund availability.

10% - Essential - Assist the departmental accountant with hiring paperwork and processes for all students, staff and faculty. Formulate all student offer letters and responsible for data entry associated with hiring to include: JEDs and GS61 report.

10% - Essential - Assist the departmental accountant with financial data entry into PeopleSoft as needed and provide assistance as needed for departmental functions and events and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education – A High School Diploma

Work Experience – Experience in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping. A Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for required work experience.

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
