JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Office of Sponsored Programs, the Grants Administrator II reviews and negotiates award agreements and completes data entry and delivery to the Grants and Contracts Administration office for account set up. The GA II also provides proposal submission support as needed. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Contract Management: Manages contract negotiations and serves as University contact with funding agencies as directed. Reviews and negotiates contract terms proposed by funding agencies. Directs contract discussions. Manages compliance with University policies and ensures that requirements of sponsoring agencies have been addressed pertaining to human subjects, animal use, biosafety hazards and export control. Interfaces with Grants and Contracts Administration in the setup and modification of awards. Provides auxiliary assistance to central OSP office as needed.
30% - Essential - Administrative and Consultative Services: Provides administrative expertise to assist staff and faculty in the development of requests for support in order to facilitate award negotiation, acceptance and setup. Advises academic college representatives, PIs and administrators regarding award negotiations. Ensures budgetary accuracy.
10% - Essential - Proposal Development Assistance: Delivers technical assistance to faculty and staff in the development and preparation of proposals and budgets. Provides proposal submission assistance in peak periods, or as needed. Approves University proposal submissions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration or the social sciences and experience in contracts and grant administration activities.
Work Exp 3+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree - Non-profit management, higher education, public administration or business administration
Work Experience in grants and contracts in a higher education setting
Licenses & Certificates - CRA, CPRA, CFRA

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 56,210.00 - $ 75,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
