JOB SUMMARY:Leads analysis, design, development, implementation and production support of the Clemson Ellucian Banner software systems. Develops integrations with other vendors systems used by the University. Performs senior-level programming functions and leads and instructs other developers when required. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:50% - Essential - Senior Development: Acts as Subject Matter Expert.Designs and provides technical solutions for critical Banner Student Systems. Modifies, tests and implements programs for developmental items and creates and maintains technical documents. Follows, modifies, and supports development coding standards. Participates in analysis and design of assigned products with the customer. Serves as product subject matter expert for the student systems. Uses programming expertise to teach team members. Performs code review for team as needed. Provides development and design level of effort for projects. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education - A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Work Experience: 5+ years Significant experience with Ellucian Banner 9 and related systems (i.e. Banner Workflow, DegreeWorks); PL/SQL and Grails programming; and Automic/UC4 job scheduling software is preferred. Experience with API use and development and React.JS development is desired. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a complex software lifecycle development environment using tools such as the Atlassian suite and Bitbucket, and will be comfortable interfacing with business analysts to determine, develop, and test modifications. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
