JOB SUMMARY:
The Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine at Clemson University (PCVM) seeks a highly skilled and motivated Veterinary Technical Educator to provide leadership and support for clinical operations and student instruction in the clinical skills courses, foundational science labs and clerkships. While utilizing state of the art classrooms, laboratories, and teaching technology with both live animals and simulation models, this position will play an active role in veterinary student instruction and assessment within a variety of clinical teaching areas, based on their interest, expertise and experience. The primary focus for this role is on live animal and simulation model curriculum support and delivery with opportunity to participate in veterinary nursing duties as assigned. Details of the clinical work and responsibilities will be mutually agreed upon based on curricular needs and individual interest, expertise, and experience.
The PCVM is recruiting to fill multiple vacancies for this role.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Curriculum Support & Delivery: Work with faculty to prepare and deliver coursework; assess and mentor veterinary students. Collaborate with faculty and the inventory manager to maintain and manage teaching spaces, equipment and models for cleanliness and readiness. Support protocol development and teaching materials.
40% - Essential - Veterinary Nursing: Under the supervision of clinical faculty and Lead VTE, provide clinical support and high-quality medical care for mixed animal species within the CVM skills labs. Appropriately manage and administer medications including controlled substances. Perform surgical nursing and procedural duties including but not limited to all aspects of sedation and anesthesia, prep and recovery, and dental prophylaxis. Perform clinical diagnostic procedure duties. Maintain accurate medical records. Assist with clinical trials and research as needed. Ensure biosecurity and safety protocols. Other clinical practice duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Associate's Degree - Veterinary Technology
Work Experience - 3+ years in veterinary clinical experience. Familiarity with EMR systems, Microsoft suite, Cubex, and other electronic systems.
Certifications - Credentialed Veterinary Technician with licensure in South Carolina or eligibility to gain licensure.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Veterinary Technology
Work Experience - 5+ years in veterinary clinical experience. Previous experience working in an academic institution. Experience with curriculum support and implementation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Hiring Range: $37,200.00 - $50,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
