JOB SUMMARY:

 

Clemson University's Curriculum Delivery Team is looking for an Instructional Designer II to fulfill the following duties:

  • Participate in the design and development of high-quality and innovative training content related to the implementation of Workday@Clemson and other business transformation initiatives. 
     
  • Collaborate with staff, faculty, and subject matter experts to develop content that promote learner engagement and adoption across Clemson. 
     
  • Develop cohesive, relevant curriculum partnering with organizational leaders. 
     
  • Creates educational experiences, assess learner progress and align content with needs, incorporate instructional design principles and theories to maximize learning, maintain projects and course documents. 
     
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

MODERNIZING HOW CLEMSON WORKS Workday@Clemson

Clemson University is investing in a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Workday@Clemson, that supports enterprise-wide modernization of core HR and Finance processes and tasks. We will efficiently and strategically transition to a new system that supports both the efforts of the University's bold strategic initiative ¿ Clemson Elevate, as well as the needs of our students, faculty, staff and partners. The focus on modernizing daily, recurring tasks will keep Clemson employees engaged and give them more time to focus on high-priority and mission-critical work like teaching, research and service.

Clemson¿s Workday platform will integrate and streamline key University functions with an enterprise-wide solution that supports Clemson¿s campuses, statewide locations and related organizations. Workday@Clemson will replace an antiquated system with a cutting-edge, intelligently designed one that allows for faculty, staff, student workers, and administrators alike to intuitively complete a number of critical business processes through a highly coordinated system that offers a smooth user experience.

JOB DUTIES:

 

50% - Essential - Oversee and Develop:
Oversees and develops courses, resources, job-aids, technical guides, videos, and other related content. Independently facilitates the design process by developing objectives, completing needs analyses, writing curriculum plans, and other related deliverables. Creates and curates learning content that is accessible, engaging, and promotes active learning. Designs learning activities that promote interactivity with the content and between learners. Builds content using tools, such as Microsoft Office, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, or Articulate Rise. Aligns with best practices for accessibility, copyright, and fair use. Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) on the planning of media assets, to include video, audio, graphics, and other appropriate media. Recommends appropriate approaches for delivering content that meets the training needs of individuals, teams, and departments.
20% - Essential - Project Management:
Applies project management practices to learning design projects from start to completion. Monitors progress, anticipates and troubleshoots roadblocks, recalibrates deliverables and timelines, and communicates frequently with the director about the progress of all assigned projects. Manages and maintains digital asset library for learning design projects. Updates project plans, schedules, and reports. Tracks, updates, and maintains project requirements, documentation, issues, funding, and risks and supports all other project deliverables. Aligns all created content with established templates and brand guidelines. Manages collaborative relationships with stakeholders through face-to-face, digital, and remote communication channels
25% - Essential - Training Delivery:
Designs lessons, including the selection and organization of content, methods, and materials needed to accomplish learning objectives. Presents content in face-to-face, virtual, hybrid, and recorded modalities. Facilitates group problem solving and group processing. Leads curriculum design. Participates in the promotional activities related to training programs. Executes specific change management related tasks as assigned
5% - Essential - Quality Assurance:
Conducts formative and summative evaluations to assess the effectiveness of instructional materials. Facilitates peer review by both giving feedback and receiving and applying feedback. Analyzes data and metrics to measure learning outcomes and identify areas for enhancement. Collaborates with projects that evaluate and implement processes and quality improvements for learning design processes, policies, and guidelines. Monitors quality assurance across all projects by applying accessibility standards, Universal Design for Learning principles, and learning design best practices

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Master's Degree - Degree can be substituted with equivalent experience on a year-for-year basis or a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience.
Work Experience - 3+ Years

RESPONSIBILITIES

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Band: 06 ($ 46,655.00 - $ 70,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
