JOB SUMMARY:

 

Provides unparalleled service to students, alumni, faculty, and staff through accurate maintenance of academic records for approximately 8,000 students annually, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting transfer credit evaluation, document management, and graduation and commencement logistics. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

35% - Essential - Customer Service: Acts as a member of the Registrar's service team and offers assistance in person, by phone, and email to students, alumni, faculty, and staff while adhering to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974. Respond to inquiries with accurate and timely responses. Maintain knowledge of current/appropriate regulations and policies, including complex and changing federal and state regulations. Maintain knowledge of Clemson academic regulations/curriculum requirements, departmental policies, and procedures.
35% - Essential - Record Maintenance: Certifies documentation requirements for coursework approval for students receiving credit from a transfer institution and Advanced Placement. Validates and edits data on all student request forms and workflows prior to recording. Enters academic course record adjustments, such as degree program declarations and substitution coursework. Advises students of institutional policy regarding all transfer credit and the recording of acceptable transfer credit to a student's academic record. Verifies and audits academic record summary updates that have been authorized to ensure both accuracy and completeness of data. Verifies the recording of electronic transmission of AP scores to student academic records and removes duplicate credit.
20% - Essential - Graduation Management: Assists in the graduation ceremony rotation three times a year and prepares diploma cases for distribution. Verifies both student financial indebtedness and student academic honors requirements prior to distribution at each of the graduation ceremonies. Sorts diplomas according to student requests and verifies degree information for graduates before re-ordering replacement diplomas. Collects electronic payments and reconciles daily deposits.
10% - Essential - Document Management: Advises students and parents on and limits access to educational records as required by federal law. Maintains students' permanent record files according to the retention schedule approved by the Commission of State Archives in Banner Document Management. Manages digital student record files for accurate scanning, indexing, and easy document retrieval. Assists with special projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  High School or Equivalent and related work experience
Work Experience 1+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Strong customer service experience and attention to detail.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range: $ 33,339.00 - $ 42,000.00
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
