JOB SUMMARY:
Provides administrative support for the Emergency Management, Poultry and Ruminant Health Programs within Animal Health Programs at Clemson University Livestock-Poultry Health, which is an in-person position and headquartered in Columbia, SC. Primary support will be for the Poultry Health Program. The supervisor will assign the percentages of work for each program. This position involves day-to-day office operations, including document handling, communication, supporting team activities and other duties as assigned. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in data entry, customer service, and managing correspondence is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities include providing coordinating tasks and maintain efficient workflows to ensure smooth office operations.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) Support Prepares and maintains paper and electronic database records, official correspondence, and reports for the NPIP, poultry disease surveillance and traceability programs. Manages receipts and logs checks, cash, and money orders received for NPIP supplies and certifications.
40% - Essential - Poultry Team Operations Manage calendars, meetings, and deadlines. Support preparation, execution and after-action activities for outreach events, trainings and presentations under the direction of the Poultry Programs Director. Rotate LPH receptionist duties along with other Admin Specialists.
15% - Essential - Disease Response Participate in planning and preparedness activities related to all diseases regulated by Animal Health Programs, including Emergency and Ruminant Programs. Serve in the Agencys Incident Management Team during trainings, drills, exercises, and disease response. Responsibilities may extend beyond routine schedule and normal activities.
5% - Essential - Emergency Support Function 17 (Agriculture & Animals) Support the ESF-17 Team during gubernatorial activations by performing administrative functions. Provide emergency response outreach to the poultry industry and maintain continuity of the Poultry Programs operations as directed by the Poultry Programs Director.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritize work, be a dependable, punctual and a team player.
Driver's License Class D Normal.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Associate's Degree
Previous administrative experience.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Band: 03 Salary range ($27,510.00 - $44,800.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 1 employee
Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
