JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Lead AP&R Accountant, in a team-centered environment, serve as a resource for the College of Science faculty, staff and students, providing accounts payable and receivable support to assigned unit(s), ensuring compliance with auditing standards.
JOB DUTIES:
50% - Essential - Accounts Payable/P-card Administration:
Ensure timely processing of financial transactions including P-Cards, requisitions, invoices, purchase orders, vouchers, expense reports, and travel reimbursements. Verify account accuracy before processing. Communicate with University partners and vendors to ensure timely payments and issue resolution. Process visitor reimbursements for travel and other expenses promptly and accurately.
20% - Essential - Accounts Receivable:
Prepare external web invoicing. Prepare deposits and transmittals for receivables, including CUF projects.
20% - Essential - Customer Service:
Assist employees with inquiries within accounting systems. Provide guidance on procurement and travel policies and procedures. Refer detailed budget inquiries to Financial Analysts or Post Awards Accountants. Follow up on and escalate requests or concerns until resolved.
10% - Essential - Compliance:
Maintain audit-compliant files and documentation, both electronic and on paper, by State and University policies for all transactions. Stay updated on relevant policies and procedures through various resources, including but not limited to University websites, such as procurement, training online or in person, and updates, resources, and guidance provided by the college business office.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.
Work Experience 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Accounting, finance, or business management
Work Experience 2+ years of professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, or finance.

Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
80% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period

Required to work in a standard office environment communicating both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the University.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range: $39,000.00 - $53,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
