ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICAL AND STATISTICAL SCIENCES

The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University is seeking talented individuals for a tenure-track faculty position starting August 15, 2025. The position is geared towards individuals with expertise in statistics, and research interests in uncertainty quantification, design and analysis of computer experiments, topological data analysis and/or closely related fields. Recruiting will be for the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in statistics and other related areas that are typically taught by faculty within the Statistics and Operations Research Division of the School. Specific desirable attributes for candidates include strong interest in: collaboration with faculty members within the school, interdisciplinary work with subject-matter researchers throughout the university, and building industrial partnerships.

The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences is dedicated to Clemson’s overall mission of discovery, learning, and engagement. The School’s faculty includes tenured/tenure-track faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and teaching-focused faculty, and fosters professional growth for all faculty. The School offers the full range of Baccalaureate, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees.
The School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences is organized into three Divisions:
• Statistics and Operations Research: includes faculty in Applied Statistics and Data Science, Operations Research, and Probability and Mathematical Statistics.
• Mathematics: includes faculty in Algebra and Discrete Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, and Pure and Applied Analysis.
• Mathematics and Statistics Education: includes faculty in Mathematics Education and Statistics Education. Lecturers (of all ranks) belong to the Mathematics and Statistics Education division.
