JOB SUMMARY:

 

Performs, coordinates custodial and housekeeping activities. Assists with event coordination as well as set up and tear down. Provides a clean and welcoming environment for all that come to Greenville ONE. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

50% - Essential - Performs custodial and housekeeping duties as assigned during day time operating hours consisting of 4 floors at Greenville ONE. This includes 11 classrooms, 20 conference rooms, 48 offices and cubicles. Cleans and maintains all restrooms and lobby areas on each floor. Cleaning high touch surfaces thru work shift. Disposes of trash and recycles appropriate materials.

20% - Essential - Assist with covering 5th floor reception desk when employee is out. Assists with set up of events for internal and external clients. Assures the area is in pristine condition before and after the event. General cleaning tasks at campus buildings. Sweeping, vacuuming and washing floors. Emptying waste receptacles. Cleaning and disinfecting bathroom toilets, showers, countertops, mirrors, sinks, etc.
10% - Essential - Maintains rooftop garden while assuring plants are seasonal and in good condition. Following established Clemson Greenville ONE facilities protocol, inspects the campus building to ensure they are properly maintained, reports any problems to supervisor, and develops solutions when called upon.
10% - Essential - Completes morning walk thru/check list to ensure that building is clean prior to students/staff/faculty guest enter the space. Notates any deficiencies and notifies Director of Operations to get resolved. Completes on the job training and related educational instruction as outlined in the Custodial training program.
10% - Essential - Manages janitorial supplies/inventory to ensure that sufficient supplies are on hand. If supplies are needed will notify Director of Operations. Provides guidance to staff on safety measures, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with established rules and guidelines. Assists in testing new cleaning products and updates records regarding use and performance. Stays abreast of standards for equipment use.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Experience in custodial, housekeeping or pest control work that is directly related to the area of employment.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  High School or Equivalent
Work Exp 3+ years

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  50% - Wet or humid
  40% - Chemical hazards
  40% - Exposure to bio-hazards (i.e. blood, bodily fluids)
  50% - Exposure to dust/fumes

WORK SCHEDULE:

 

Standard Hrs: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range: $23,253 - $36,000
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
