JOB SUMMARY:

 

Repairs and maintains equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and brakes. Maintains shop and tools. Assists in agronomic activities, including land preparation, chemical application. Operates bulldozer, back hoe, front-end loader, motor grader, combine, and farm tractors. Operates trucks for commodity and equipment hauling. Completes other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

30% - Essential - Equipment and Vehicle Operation: 
Operates agriculture and construction equipment including bulldozer, backhoe, front-end loader, motor grader, combine, and large farm tractors. Operates large trucks requiring CDL for hauling farm commodities, equipment, and supplies.
30% - Essential - Maintenance and Repair:
Repairs and maintains agriculture and construction equipment including diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and brakes. Maintains shop and tools. Performs preventative maintenance service and repairs of vehicle fleet and agricultural equipment for PREC units. Assists with facility maintenance activities.
30% - Essential - Crop Production: 
Assists with agronomic activities in support of research, teaching, and public service activities. Assists in land management activities. Operates farm tractors, farm implements, and construction equipment to accomplish activities. Performs other support operations on equipment at PREC properties to facilitate crop and animal research.
10% - Essential - Shop Maintenance and Record Keeping:
Procures parts and supplies to support shop operations including filters, repair parts, tires, lubricants, gasoline, and diesel fuel. Manages shop record keeping system; logs parts orders, process invoices and repair work orders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Work experience that involved the independent performance of job duties directly related to the area of employment.

Licenses - Drivers License Class A CDL
Work Experience: 3+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education: High School or Equivalent

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Salary Range: ($32,700.00 - $45,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Essential Level 2 employee
Required to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
