JOB SUMMARY:

 

Reporting to the Director of Teaching Fellows and Strategic Recruitment, the Recruitment Specialist will be responsible for student recruitment and pathways program development and management for the College of Education. The Specialist will work in conjunction with the Director of Undergraduate Student Services and advising staff as part of the College's Undergraduate Student Services Team. The Specialist will be required to travel overnight and perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

60% - Essential - Recruitment Program Development and Management:
Plan for short-term and long-term strategic enrollment growth. Support the development of COE recruitment materials and dissemination plans in conjunction with MarCom staff.  Develop yield communication for admitted students. Respond to inquiries and plan appointments/campus visits for prospective and admitted students and families. Develop and execute COE recruitment events. Represent the COE and University and coordinate staffing at recruitment events (CU Admissions events, CEBA events, technical college events, Day in the Life, etc.). Actively recruit students through outreach and travel to strategic schools, districts, and geographic regions of the state. Develop and maintain relationships with school counselors and other school partners (Teacher Cadets instructors, administrators, etc.), community organizations, and other educational organizations.  Manage COE-level scholarships awarded to first-time and transfer students.  Collaborate with university and college alumni relations staff to enhance student recruitment.
30% - Essential - Pathways Programs Development and Management:
Promote, manage, and expand existing pathways programs in the college, including Expressway to Tiger Town, Teacher Cadets, and Grow Your Own initiatives.  Develop curriculum plans, conduct transcript evaluations, and advise pathways students. Expand partnerships with school districts, technical colleges, and other four-year colleges. Develop new pre-collegiate and transfer pathways and programming (summer programs, campus visits, etc.) with the goal of exposing K-12 and technical college students to the education profession and opportunities in the COE.
10% - Essential - Program Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report data (current and historic) related to student interactions, applicants, admits, yield, and retention. Assess the quality of the COE recruitment strategy and develop and make continuous improvements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience - 1+ years in student services programs

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Master's Degree
Work Experience - 3+ years in student services programs; previous recruitment experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  25% - Stand for prolonged period
  50% - Sit (stationary position) for prolonged period
  25% - Walk or move about
  85% - Communicate, converse, give direction, express oneself

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  20% - Overnight Travel

WORK SCHEDULE:

 

Standard Hours: 37.5

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range: $39,000 - $60,000
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
