The School of Nursing at Clemson University invites applicants for an open rank, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. The position is a 9- month appointment and is predominantly located on the main Clemson University Campus in Edwards Hall with occasional responsibilities at a secondary site of instruction in Greenville, SC. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of research or clinical applications related to genetics and genomics such as oncology, precision medicine, precision nutrition, newborn screening, health professions genomics education, rare diseases, big data analytics/secondary data analysis, ethics and policy related to genomics and precision health, or other related areas. The candidate will also have a record of funded research, publications, scholarly activities, and graduate student supervision. The candidate will contribute to the strong Healthcare Genetics and Genomics program within the School of Nursing. The impact of genetics and genomics on healthcare may exceed that of any earlier scientific advancement. Genetics and genomics underlie precision healthcare and promise innovations in disease prevention, early detection, diagnostics, and treatment that require different ways of providing health care and conducting research. To help meet this challenge, Clemson University School of Nursing offers an interdisciplinary Doctor of Philosophy in Healthcare Genetics and Genomics and integrates healthcare genetics and genomics in the undergraduate nursing curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching: Develop and deliver relevant course material consistent with teaching at an R1 University. Preparation consistent with teaching both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Research and Scholarship: Lead research initiatives among nursing faculty and students, healthcare partners, and other departments within the university.
- Service: Serve on University, College and School committees as elected. Provide a national and or international presence in relevant professional organizations that advance the field of health care genetics and genomics.
- Mentorship of students, including service on PhD, Master and/or undergraduate research committees
- Engagement: Participate in activities related to the advancement of the mission, vision, and goals for the School of Nursing.
