JOB SUMMARY:
Serves as the Senior Student Research Analyst within the Office for Institutional Research. Provides data and analytics to support university strategic planning, enrollment management and student success. Conducts advanced statistical studies to inform the design, implementation and assessment of student success programs at all levels of the university.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Data Systems Development: Researches and develops information systems to track student academic engagement, academic performance, retention and graduation at the university. Provides student engagement and success metrics for internal and external benchmarking and compliance reporting. Conducts analysis to identify achievement gaps among different student populations.
30% - Essential - Statistical Research: Designs and conducts statistical research to identify and understand the relative impact of factors on retention, graduation, time to degree, and other measures of student success. Provides data and analytical support for the university and academic units to achieve student enrollment, retention and graduation goals. This may involve predictive analytics, in-depth analysis on student movement through course and degree pathways and advanced statistical research to determine program effectiveness.
20% - Essential - Enrollment Projections: Develops and maintains statistical models of student flow through the university and makes short-term and long-term projections based on explicit assumptions to support enrollment management, budget prediction and academic program planning. Ensures and improves model accuracy through using variance analysis and other statistical model testing/validation techniques.
20% - Essential - Student Cohort Longitudinal Studies: Serves as the resource for Clemson University on projects related to tracking student in the postsecondary education systems through using the services provided by the National Student Clearinghouse. Provide related data and analytics to support accountability reporting, grant proposal development and benchmarking studies. Designs and conducts studies from the tracking results to yield insights about enrollment management and student success at Clemson University.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree
Experience - 5+ years of experience in a field related to Institutional Research
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Doctoral / Professional Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Modeling, or other quantitative discipline
Experience - Knowledge of and experience with SAS, SPSS, R, SQL, Python, Tableau, and ACCESS is preferred.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Hiring Range ($85,000 - $95,000)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
