JOB SUMMARY:
This position staffs the police department's Physical Security Operations. This involves live interaction with video and access control resources to aid in response and investigations as necessary. Conducts forensic searches and data analysis to aid with ongoing investigations. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Monitors video surveillance resources (patrol campus by video) to detect safety hazards or concerns. May also physically patrol campus. Communicates concerns to University Police. Monitors License plate reader data for alerts. Communicates relevant information to police personnel. May provide support needed to the housing security function of Physical Security Operations. This could include, monitoring the work of the patrol staff, occasionally providing transportation for that part of the staff, and monitoring video specifically in housing areas. Works to maintain camera system by configuring camera features and reporting, for repair, issues observed with cameras.
20% - Essential - Aids with Criminal investigations by conducting forensic searches of video and access control resources, including, but not limited to; video and access control records (cardholder and/or door activity), data and images accumulated by license plate reading systems, as well as assisting with data analysis.
20% - Essential - Provides real-time situational awareness to Police, Fire and EMS via active video monitoring based on dispatched calls for service, self initiated activity (traffic stops, field encounters, and property checks), and suspicious activity observation. When necessary assists with remote facility access as appropriate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000

Education - 1st Associate's Degree

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 40
10 hr. Shift, - Friday & Saturday 5:00 am - 3:00 pm and Sunday & Monday - 11:00 am - 9:00 pm subject to flexibility and/or rotating shift schedules, including weekends, as needed dependent upon the needs of the department at any given time.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range $16.73/hour
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 2 employee
Required to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
