JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University's Planned Giving Team is looking for a Stewardship & Engagement Manager to fulfill the following duties:
- The Stewardship & Engagement Manager supports the Central Development Team (Principal Gifts, Planned Giving, Corporate & Foundation Relations) by coordinating donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement touch-points to strengthen donor relationships and enhance engagement following philanthropic support.
- This role develops and produces donor-facing touch pieces, recognition materials, and stewardship initiatives, including engagement activities, in collaboration with Central Donor Relations, and other Advancement partners.
- The position works with minimal supervision to proactively and creatively identify stewardship needs and ensure timely, meaningful donor recognition in alignment with Clemson University's fundraising priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
25% - Essential - Donor Stewardship:
Collaborates with internal and external partners to design and implement innovative, customized stewardship and engagement strategies for gift and estate donors, including targeted touch-points and outreach for assigned areas. Initiates and keeps record of donor relations and stewardship activities within established databases to enhance relationships and increase continued contributions.
25% - Essential - Stewardship Messaging and Impact Reporting:
Facilitates donor recognition and engagement by providing intentional, proactive and creative personal touch-points in both print and digital mediums. These may include visuals, layouts, info-graphics, the Gift & Estate Planning E-newsletter and more. Prepares accurate donor impact reports for Gift & Estate donors, and stewardship documentation that reflect the outcomes of philanthropic gifts and investments, ensuring consistency with institutional standards. Develops data-informed reports to support donor understanding of gift impact. Maintains and tracks donor engagement data, deliverables, and biographical information in various databases to support monitoring, analytics, and reporting of stewardship.
25% - Essential - Donor Engagement & Experiences:
Supports Development Officers in executing donor and prospect engagement activities, including on-campus and off-site visits. Prepares presentations, proposals, and related materials to advance engagement efforts. Works collaboratively with internal Advancement partners such as Central Donor Relations, Marketing & Communications, Special Events, and Prospect Development to execute donor engagement strategies. Proactively manages and escalates inquiries, requests, and concerns as appropriate to ensure a positive and seamless donor experience.
25% - Essential - Liaison and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serves as Central Development Team liaison and representative at internal and external meetings, donor functions, and University-related activities, representing Clemson University in marketing stewardship and engagement efforts. Serves as point of contact between Central Development Team, Advancement colleagues and Marketing and Communications Events Team to support marketing initiatives and stewardship activities and strengthens long term relationships. Maintains regular communication with Sr. Associate Vice President regarding stewardship and donor-related activities for donors and prospects. Participates on donor relations committees, university wide committees, and task forces focused on constituent engagement and stewardship.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design
Work Experience - 3+ Years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Work Experience - 5+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: $ 52,100.00 - $ 65,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
