JOB SUMMARY:

 

Coordinates and actively promotes the UPIC program, the Career Center, and their services to the campus community.  Serves as a resource for students and potential UPIC mentors as well as provides career services to students. Coordinate UPIC-related events throughout the year and assists with special Career Center events.

JOB DUTIES:

 

40% - Essential - Program Coordination:
Assists with the management and strategic direction of the UPIC Program. Develops policies & procedures in accordance with office, university, state, & federal guidelines. Promotes & cultivates student and mentor participation in UPIC and engages in assignment development. Allocates resources to assigned internship sites (300+/year) based on budget limitations, performance rubrics, and program goals. Validates & controls reports. Ensures efficiency & appropriate distribution of UPIC budget, and provides input on resource distribution for funding internship sites.
30% - Essential - UPIC Fairs and Events:
Creates a budget, schedule and outline for UPIC related events. This includes, but is not limited to program celebrations, career fairs, and campus campaigns. Sets visionary micro and macro-level goals for the events, Manages the staffing and resources of events, and oversees approved budgets associated with the events.
20% - Essential - Social Media and Online Presence: 
Creates the vision and provides directive oversight while managing the online presence of the UPIC program. This includes conducting social media campaigns, pooling resources and developing content for the intranet and internet resources;  and building and maintaining LinkedIn/Facebook/etc. networks of alumni, mentors, student interns, etc.
10% - Essential - Student Services:
Provides comprehensive career services to students (including career counseling, seminars, workshops, ClemsonJob Link/Career Center orientations, utilization of career-related software systems, etc.) revolving around career planning, internship, full-time employment, and networking needs. Seeks ways for students to grow from and leverage their internship experience. May supervise Graduate Assistants and student workers within the office.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:  Bachelor's Degree 

Experience: 1 year of experience in student services programs

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education: Master's Degree 

Experience: Prior experience in career development, career services, and/or internship programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range: ($48,000.00 - $55,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
