JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University's Application Services Department is looking for a Systems Engineer I to fulfill the following duties:
- The Genetec Administrator will serve as System Administrator for the Genetec Security system.
- Will work with third party vendors, lead upgrades, install tools, monitor downtime, and ensure usage meets expected standards.
- Ability to work with TigerOne office and other campus teams is essential.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - System Administration:
Serve as subject matter expert. Maintain and configure system software on assigned systems. Tune systems for optimal performance. Track system capacity. Ensure stability and availability. Collaborate with third party technical account personnel as needed to accomplish necessary responsibilities. Develop UAT plans and perform all patching and initial testing of upgrades. Coordinate Disaster Recover verification, and maintain Business Continuity strategies.
35% - Essential - Technical Support:
Troubleshoot and problem solve by reviewing and analyzing user logs on a regular basis. Collect and interpret problem information using dumps and traces. Interface with other technical personnel to gather problem information and determine solutions. Escalate support for major problems that cannot be resolved by business functional experts or application analysts. Maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations and a positive attitude and enthusiasm for technology and solving problems.
20% - Essential - Customer Support:
Serve as the primary technical contact for the TigerOne team. Collaborate on planning for future expansions and integration of new services. Communication is essential for relevant system changes, outages, and best practices. Prioritize issue resolution based on stakeholder needs. Document, compile, and collaborate communication of outstanding issues and updates with stakeholders.
5% - Essential - On Call:
Serve an on-call rotation based on CCIT policies and procedures. Monitor system health checks and proactively monitor during emergency events and period of increased activity. Ensure maximum uptime and system availability to support Public Safety requirements.
5% - Essential - Training and Mentoring:
Train and advise backups and provide expert technical assistance for others. Collaborate and liaise with other units that surround the Genetec environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field
Work Experience - Experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience - 3-5 years working knowledge and abilities in IT concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of managing 3rd party enterprise software. Work with Windows OS.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: $ 57,700.00 - $ 103,900.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 1 employee
Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
