JOB SUMMARY:
Directs and leads all aspects of Campus Reservations & Events (CRE) including the oversight and management of three units responsible for reservations and client services- venue operations and technical services, & event coordination and logistics for an expanding CRE client portfolio (including students, faculty, staff, student organizations, departments, and non-affiliated individuals & organizations). Leads the coordination of high profile CU events. Collaborates with university & division stakeholders to provide environments that promote student growth & development. Guides planning and innovation for student affairs space, technology, & processes that support division and university initiatives. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Leadership & Management: Leads, directs, develops, and implements the management and operations of all aspects of Campus Reservations & Events (CRE). Create and implement departmental vision and mission that guides the delivery of services & development of students. Develop short & long-term strategic plans for all functional areas. Together with department and university partners, establishes community of practice for student enrichment programs and initiatives.
20% - Essential - Human Resource Liaison: Leads and directs the management of all human resources for CRE to include hiring, supervision, evaluation and professional development of 10 full-time staff members. Directly supervises 3-unit associate directors and 1 administrative assistant. Ensures a productive and collaborative environment where staff have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities and how their work supports the student experience, contributing to university and division strategic plans.
20% - Essential - University Events: Leads and directs the planning, oversight, support & evaluation of high-profile university events including institutional graduations, PhD Hooding ceremonies, VIP visitors & speakers and special events. Manages and leads planning meetings, division of responsibilities, communication, coordination of vendors, and day of event execution. Utilizes assessment practices for ongoing quality improvement practices.
15% - Essential - Financial Management: Develops and manages CRE annual budget which is made up of multiple funding sources including (E&G allocation, revenues, foundation & endowment accounts). Ensures good stewardship of resources and that department, division and university goals guide all decisions regarding expenditures. Ensures that all expenditures are within budgeted resources and comply with university policies and procedures. Collaborates with Auxiliary Enterprises units to identify opportunities for growth of department revenue.
15% - Essential - Division & University Support: Oversees campus-wide Special Events Review Board (SERB) & event registration process. Participates in relevant division and University-wide committees including Emergency Management Council (EMC) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Evaluate, interpret, create and enforce policies & procedures that impact departmental, division & University decision making & operations. Support, design, and create facilities that contribute to the number one student experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's Degree - and relevant program management experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree - Student Affairs; Parks, Recreation, Tourism & Management
Work Exp 3+ years

Develops Department Budgets - Responsible for developing one or more departmental budget(s). Estimated amount of budgetary responsibility in dollar amount must be added.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 79,600.00 - $ 105,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 2 employee
Required to maintain/resume essential support functions, deliver direct care services, and/or provide recovery support before normal operations resume. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
