JOB SUMMARY:
Performs inspections of campus backup generators and manages records for all campus generators. Performs electrical preventive and corrective related duties requiring both routine and advanced levels of professional skill and technical knowledge. Able to provide training and mentorship to apprentice level employees. Ensures workflow is not interrupted in absence of Lead. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
70% - Essential - Generator Inspections Management: Conducts scheduled visual and operational inspections, maintenance and repair of campus backup generators as required by SCDHEC and EPA guidelines. Maintains run time, fuel, and maintenance records of all campus generators. Conducts required inspections on campus above ground storage tanks. Conducts required inspection and maintenance on campus battery backup systems. Documents results using Facilities CMMS and SCDHEC/EPA format.
10% - Essential - Training and Mentorship: Leads, guides, and/or trains apprentice level employees in applicable procedures and techniques. Completes the required training and testing to obtain applicable licensing.
10% - Essential - Work Area Maintenance: Prepares and cleans work areas, shop and vehicles. Identifies and gathers proper tools and materials and ensures proper housekeeping.
10% - Essential - Safety Management: Promotes a safe workplace and safe work practices. Operates vehicles and other hydraulic and hand tools with safety as a primary objective. Complies with all applicable OSHA safety mandates and enforces the University's LOTO policy. Adheres to all EPA, DHEC and NFPA 25 rules. Promotes positive and productive relationships within and between shops.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Work Exp 3+ years; MASC Journeyman License.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range: ($ 45,300.00 - $ 47,018.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
