JOB SUMMARY:

 

Performs and coordinates Accounting and Human Resource operations of the Auxiliary Enterprises Business Office maintaining records and documentation for budget in excess of $72 million. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

20% - Essential - Compensation Management:
Gathers information for new hires and provides information to Data Center.  Maintains working knowledge of HR/Payroll laws, policy and procedures communicating changes to department managers as required. Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of CUBS HR system and the timekeeping system, Kronos. Ensures that all punches are entered and accurate.  Verifies leave entries.  Oversees and audits pay sheets each pay period and verifies pay lines for signing-off on payroll.  Runs reports for payroll and HR as requested.
20% - Essential - Talent/Performance Management:
Works in collaboration with Auxiliary Enterprises units for recruiting needs of the assigned area to include advertising, coordinating interviews, submitting background check request, and appropriate approvals. Enters recruiting information into Tiger Talent. Validates new hire information in CUBS HR. Coordinates department on-boarding activities for University Housing new hires assisting with integration to the department. Ensures all Performance Management submissions are completed for University Housing, submitting to HR in accordance with specified timeline. Retention of search and employment records. Provides position tracking of full-time equivalents, time-limited, and temporary positions.
35% - Essential - Financial Management: 
Manages business office for the functional area ensuring compliance with University, County and State laws; rules and regulations are maintained. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates existing policies and procedures, operations, and documents making recommendations in efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. Processes daily transactions to include buyways, PeopleSoft entries. (journal entries, invoices).  Completes revenue deposits.  Maintains reconciliation of A&L accounts for AUXE. Prepares monthly sales tax reports.
15% - Essential - Continuous Improvement:
Keeps staff updated regarding procurement procedures and guidelines.  Drives standardization in financial processes and reporting across all functions as the organization continues to evolve.
10% - Essential - Advocacy:
Represents the interests of assigned division and its employees. Provides constructive ideas and feedback to the Business Officer to help drive improved processes and supporting tools. Attends Strategic Planning Meetings, Assists Business Office Staff and Finance Director with projects as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  High School or Equivalent - and relevant experience in finance/accounting, business management, and public administration
Work Exp 1+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  1st Bachelor's Degree - Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, or Accounting

Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Band: 05 ($ 38,985.00 - $ 63,500)

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
