In this role, you will:

  • COUNSEL: Provide comprehensive career counseling, workshops, and programming to assist students with career decision-making, developing career plans, interpreting career inventories, and enhancing career competencies through experiential learning.
  • GUIDE: Assist students in navigating the internship and job search process, refine professional documents and practice interviewing techniques.
  • MENTOR: Hire, train and manage the CCPD Career Ambassador Program, Graduate Students and Interns.
  • CONNECT: Increase the CCPD's visibility and support students through Outreach programming and development. Connect students to CCPD resources and Employers.
  • COLLABORATE: Maintain and develop relationships with Campus Partners in Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty and Staff.

  • Work cooperatively with others to achieve organizational goals.Lead, develop and encourage students who work or volunteer for the CCPD.

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Manages and delivers career development counseling, programs and workshops to students and alumni that empower them to pursue their educational and professional aspirations. Oversees and trains career ambassadors, graduate assistants and interns to support students' career development. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

40% - Essential - Career Counseling and Program Management:
Provides career counseling, workshops, and programming to students and alumni. Assists individuals with career decision-making, career development plans, career inventory interpretations, developing career competencies, the intern and job search process, professional document development, interviewing techniques, etc. Writes confidential reports.
20% - Essential - Personnel Management:
Manages, hires, and trains, interns and graduate students. Ensures these students are well-versed in career development topics.
20% - Essential - Outreach:
Manages student outreach programs, including tabling and selected major specific events, to increase the Career Center's visibility and support students' career development.
20% - Essential - Student Program Management:
Manages the Career Ambassador Program. Collaborates with Academic and Student Affairs professionals and faculty in developing career center programming.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree
Experience -  1-3 years of experience in student services

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Experience - Experience in student services programs and at least 1 year of coursework towards a Master's Degree in Counseling, Student Affairs, or related field

Certifications - NCC and/or LPC, CDF or CCSP

Supervises Work of Others - Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range ($ 46,655.00 - $50,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
