JOB SUMMARY:

 

Reporting to the Director of First-Year Academic Programs, the Coordinator of First Year Academic Progams provides hiring, supervision, programming, marketing, and on-boarding support for the Summer Start program.

JOB DUTIES:

 

40% - Essential - Hiring and Supervision: Coordinate and implement hiring and on-boarding processes for Peer Leaders including marketing, application materials, interviewing, and hiring paperwork. Responsible for training and supervising Peer Leaders. Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of 2-4 Graduate Assistant(s). 
30% - Essential - Programming and Events: Designs and implements welcome and onboarding activities including virtual information sessions in the Spring as well as the Summer Start Welcome Sessions in the summer in concert with Ready Set Roar. Responsible for the development and oversight of the summer programming and engagement series. Responsible for connecting with campus partners for training. Assists throughout the year with major events in the department. Oversees Peer Leader event requests and supplies for events.
20% - Essential - Communication and Marketing: Oversees and works collaboratively on all aspects of communication and marketing. Responsible for the development and implementation of Information Sessions. Manages on-boarding communication documents including FAQ and Next Steps. Collaborates with the Office of Admissions in the development of marketing tools and resources including the website and SLATE integration. Assists in the management of phone calls and emails from students and parents. Manages Social Media account.
10% - Essential - Additional Duties: Assist with planning, coordination and execution of other unit/departmental programs and initiatives (FIRST, STEM Start, Academic Coaching, and Success Strategy Workshops). Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Master's Degree
Experience - 2+ years of experience in student services programs

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE
Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises Work of Others - Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range ($40,000.00 - $46,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
