JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Instructional Designer for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) will directly support faculty in the DVM program by leading and guiding them in the process of course development, review and revision. By creating a consistent methodology of technical course development, this role will ensure the DVM curriculum meets the accessibility and usability standards of Clemson University.

JOB DUTIES:

 

35% - Essential - Course Development & Faculty Support:
Under the supervision of the Director of Teaching and Learning, guide faculty and staff in consistent and accessible content creation for DVM coursework. Adhere to prescribed timelines and keeps course creators on task.  Provide status reports on course development.  Assist faculty in building out and managing course content in various learning platforms (Canvas and Medtrics).
35% - Essential - Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with accessibility and usability guidelines and standards. Ensure consistency throughout courses by developing, referencing, and following course templates. Collaborate with the Clemson University Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation to bring best practices to the CVM community.
30% - Essential - Technical Support:
Conduct training for faculty and staff in educational technology and course material creation. Provide technical support for campus learning management system (Canvas) and the CVM's curriculum management platform (Medtrics).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Master's Degree in education or another directly related field and experience in curriculum development.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Experience -  2+ years experience in direct curriculum support

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range ($52,000.00 - $65,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
