JOB SUMMARY:

 

The eResources Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of electronic library resources acquisition and maintenance, including ordering, reviewing license agreements, posting payments, and activating and maintaining online access. The Manager is responsible for corresponding with publishers and vendors with regard to administrative functions regarding with their sites. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

40% - Essential - Order Management: Identifies and activates appropriate Community Zone records in Alma, the Shared Library Services Platform. Attaches or updates order records to accurately reflect details associated with respective orders and invoices. Assists with entering and maintaining current links and coverage dates within Alma. Coordinates with the eCollections Access and Licensing Librarian and other colleagues to ensure ongoing access. Serves as a point person for troubleshooting issues related to access for electronic resources.
20% - Essential - Order Facilitation: Determines appropriate purchasing sources for electronic resources, including databases and streaming content. Engages with vendors to process invoices, sign contracts, and obtain new licenses. Reviews vendor license agreements and communicates revisions with vendor contacts, in consultation with the Clemson University Contract expert. Maintains an updated file of current license agreements.
20% - Essential - Vendor Systems Management: Establishes and maintains profiles on vendor administrative management platforms. Updates details related to key contacts, usage statistics, IP addresses, link resolvers, and other related information. Loads updated proxy stanzas into configuration file to maintain access to all proxied content.
10% - Essential - Streaming Content Processing: Communicates with ordering liaisons to select and purchase streaming films from Kanopy, Swank, Docuseek, and other streaming media platforms. Promptly orders streaming content and provides access details to the necessary parties. Coordinates with the eResources Discovery Librarian to add records to Alma for discovery in Primo, when permissible, and for the placement of order records.
10% - Essential - Fiscal Responsibilities: Processes invoices for electronic resources. Verifies accuracy of invoice amounts and products. Posts payments to Alma. Processes individual invoice lines when manual updates are necessary. Manages the deposit account for EBSCO or other subscription agents, and monitors available funds. Oversees troubleshooting when issues arise with processing payments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education - Bachelor's Degree - Library Science, Information Science, or related field.
Work Experience - 1+ years in library systems and operations. 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Work Experience - Experience using ExLibris Alma, invoicing, and working in an academic library is preferred.

No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Anticipated Hiring Range: $43,800.00 - $60,000.00
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
