JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Information Security (InfoSec) Analyst supports the Division of Research InfoSec compliance by ensuring adherence to standards and maintaining comprehensive documentation for regulated research-related processes. This role combines technical writing expertise with compliance management responsibilities, focusing on documentation, personnel clearances, project onboarding and closure, training, and continuous improvement in line with CMMC requirements. The ideal candidate brings experience in technical writing, InfoSec and compliance, with a deep understanding of InfoSec standards and practices.  Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

 

45% - Essential - Creates, revises, and maintains comprehensive documentation, including policies, procedures, Technology Control Plans (TCPs), user guides, and CUI access protocols aligned with InfoSec compliance requirements. Organizes and maintains a centralized repository of all documentation related to regulated research, implementing quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and currency. Conducts regular audits of training materials, documentation, and records to maintain compliance with  standards and best practices.
20% - Essential - Oversees personnel clearance processes for access to regulated research data, ensuring all employees meet eligibility and training requirements. Manages project onboarding and closure, maintaining documentation on personnel, systems, and workflows. Coordinates with IT to ensure access controls and security measures for regulated research project data, supporting incident response planning and documentation.
15% - Essential - Develops, updates, and delivers training materials, resources, and guides to educate staff and stakeholders on  compliance requirements, access protocols, and Infosec best practices. Provides ongoing support to promote adherence to standards.
10% - Essential - Works closely with IT, Information Security, HR, Procurement, and Communications teams, and liaises with key stakeholders to align on documentation standards, CUI control measures, and CMMC compliance. Facilitates communication between cross-functional teams to ensure clarity on standards and compliance requirements.
10% - Essential - Stays updated on changes in regulatory standards, best practices, and trends in technical writing and InfoSec compliance. Reviews, edits, and audits documentation for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with current standards and proactively identifies improvements to enhance documentation processes and content management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education -  Bachelor's Degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems or related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.


Experience - Work Exp 2+ years in technical writing, ideally in information security or compliance. Strong knowledge of information security compliance and regulated research. Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills

Based on security clearance requirements for this position, qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Experience with information security frameworks, especially NIST 800-171/CMMC. Familiarity with GRC software for compliance management. Background in regulated industries or government contracts.

Licenses & Certifications - Certification in a information security or compliance framework (CMMC CCA/CCP, CISSP, CISSA highly desirable)

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

 

Expected Salary Range ($ 68,397.00 - $ 95,000.00)
 

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

 

Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
