JOB SUMMARY:
Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on assigned buildings and systems as a member of a multi-skilled maintenance team. Serves as the primary maintenance representative for University Facilities in assigned buildings. Works with occupants to investigate and identify problems. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
30% - Essential - Preventative Maintenance:
Performs general building and systems preventive maintenance as directed and scheduled. Inspections and general repair of mechanical rooms, air compressors, vacuum, DI water, pumps and other systems in accordance with University Facilities PM Program.
20% - Essential - HVAC:
Changes filters and belts as scheduled or needed.
20% - Essential - Plumbing:
Unstops toilets, urinals and sinks. Tests and replaces failed valves and parts. Clears drains and lines with manual or powered auger as needed.
20% - Essential - Electrical:
Changes bulbs, ballasts, switches, receptacles and covers. Traces circuits to isolate problems. Measures current (Amps) and voltages to verify proper circuit function. Checks and sets building clocks and automated lighting systems.
10% - Essential - Safety:
Compiles with all OSHA and University safety standards. Performs LOTO (Lock Out and Tag Out) in accordance with University Facilities policy. Adheres to EPA and DHEC rules. Promotes positive and productive relationships within and between shops.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal < 26,000
Work Exp 1+ years
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Associate's Degree - Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC or General/Industrial Maintenance
Work Exp 3+ years

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Anticipated Salary Range: ($ 33,339.00 - $ 49,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Essential Level 1 employee
Required to respond during an emergency closure or modified operations in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on-call.
